This store is notorious for keeping dead animals in cages with live ones. Multiple occasions visiting I found dead lizards, fish, mice and rats in with the live ones. Some of the workers at this place are rude and dismissive as well. Would not recommend.

Greenwood carries supplies for most creatures you could imagine keeping for a very fair price. Every person who has rung me up or spoken with me in the store has been very kind to me. I don't need to go often, but I always love when I do take the time to visit. The older staff are exceptional at what they do. I am so grateful for this pillar in the pet keeping and hobbyist community!

There is a distinct timelessness about rolling through here. Perhaps the large space just provides enough air, compared to their competitors. Any way about it, I feel like it could be now, the 90s, or even the 70s sometimes when I stop in. A full array of pets and supplies available with knowledgeable staff to help zero in on solutions. Lots of birds, fish, reptiles there, and possibly other small critters. I'll have to explore more of the wares. They are part of the K9 Detroit stores for rewards/membership.

This place is a hidden gem! You can tell the animals onsite are truly well cared for—they’re given plenty of exercise, their tanks are clean, and the plants are thriving. It’s clear the staff puts in the effort to maintain a healthy, happy environment. Plus, there’s a great selection of goodies for all your fur babies. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

I purchased this tarantula today at Greenwood, the older man who worked there was incredibly rude. I made eye contact with him while looking at the tarantulas and got his attention, letting him know I had called earlier about buying a tarantula. He made a face and gesture of annoyance saying "okay, and?". I wasn't rude to him, I was trying to get assistance since I wasn't sure who I talked to on the phone previously. It was very off putting. The young man working came to take over to help me and I finished my purchase. Besides the minor rude interaction, this store is not caring for its tarantulas properly. I know most pet stores don't house them correctly but at least they are provided a water dish and hide at places like petco and pet smart. Greenwood had the t. albopilosus I purchased in an enclosure meant for arboreals with a corkbark propped up in a way for, again, an arboreal tarantula to use as a hide, when this species is terrestrial. There was also no wayer dish present and the enclosure was quite dry so there was no water to any degree. I was put off by the husbandry issues but again, it isn't uncommon for pet stores. What I can't let go though is full on neglec
